Our Ethical Standard
A truly ethical brand is mindful of ethics, sustainability, and animal welfare.
By ethics, we mean the social aspects. Brands with high ethical standards pay their workers a fair wage and ensure good working conditions for everyone.
Brands that are truly sustainable will choose materials that are friendly to the environment, such as Tencel or recycled fabrics, while also committing to better environmental practices, such as using renewable resources, closed-loop processes, or offsetting carbon emissions.
Finally, some brands on our list are committed to being 100% vegan. Please note that we chose to include brands that use materials such as leather if it's sourced responsibly.
How We Add Brands
We look into brands that are widely known to be a part of the ethical fashion movement, and we do our best to select a wide range of styles, sizes, and price points. We also try to find brands that are located in different places around the world, so everybody is able to shop ethically no matter where they live.
From there, we look for available information provided by the brand regarding their ethics, sustainability, and animal welfare. If the brand doesn't provide enough information on their website, we contact the brand directly.
If the brand is able to back up its ethical and sustainability claims, we add them to this list and share our research on their brand page.
